PeruvianCultures grew out of "Alvaro Valdivia Anticuario," our family's antique business founded in Arequipa, Peru, on 6 December 1988. Across three generations, our grandfather and father built their reputation as antiquarians and collectors — and over decades spent alongside Andean highland weavers, they formed relationships based on trust, respect and shared cultural pride.
These artisans invited us to bring their handmade Peruvian textiles —including high-quality handwoven rugs, wool cushion covers, and sustainable alpaca textiles— to a wider market. That moment marked the beginning of our artisanal textile shop, a natural evolution of the family's lifelong work with authentic Peruvian heritage.
